Tailor of Auschwitz

This book shows readers a panoramic view of Europe before and after World War II from the rare female perspective of a seamstress in the Auschwitz concentration camp. The book describes the beginning of anti-Semitism in Europe in the late 1930s, the rise of Nazi power, the deprivation of Jewish living space under Nazi rule, and the cruel history of the Nazi massacre in concentration camps such as Auschwitz. The book constantly compares the different situations of Jews and Nazis, especially in the fashion industry. Jews went from owning fashion factories and occupying a certain say in the European fashion industry to being deprived of their industries, their livelihoods were destroyed, and even they lost their right to live. What is horrifying is that in order to meet the aesthetic needs of upper-class Nazi women, a fashion store was established in Auschwitz, and the only reward for the workers was the right to survive. The author uses such a sharp contrast to lead readers to re-examine the cruelty of World War II and the horror of fascism, hoping to awaken readers to cherish peace.
