Hong Kong Noir: The Crime Boss

“Kid, you’ve got guts. From now on, you’re with me. If anything comes up, go to him,” Lei Luo said to the young man across from him, pointing to the fat man beside him.

“I didn’t expect you to be so tough, kid. You even dared to charge in under those circumstances. I knew I was right about you.” As he spoke, he took a stack of Hong Kong dollars from his bag...

The young man looked at the money in the fat man’s hand, said nothing, and took it.

“Thanks, Brother Zai. I’ll be counting on you to look after me from now on!” the young man said.

Pigsy patted the young man on the shoulder, then walked away.

His name was Zhao Zhenwen. He had transmigrated from the twenty-first century...

Some called him Wenzai. Later, everyone would call him Brother Wen, and some would even call him Master Wen!

Working for Lei Luo, he rose step by step from a uniformed police officer to an undercover officer, then an inspector, a superintendent, and finally the first Chinese Commissioner of Police!

This novel brings together many Hong Kong crime stories. If anything seems familiar, look to those movies...
