No romance for now, and not too much angst. There are quite a few original ideas, but they’ll be handled sensibly. Character illustrations and mythological elements are included. Please bear with the slow pace at the start. This newcomer’s writing is awful, so I hope you’ll be kind.
Mo Lan was supposed to have a bright future as a postdoctoral researcher. Who could have guessed that he would wake up to find the world destroyed and himself transformed into Nidhogg? Thus began his life in another world, along with the burden of saving his homeland.
Venti: “You mean Lan? I’ve known him for thousands of years. He’s the most important person to me. Want to hear his story? Then offer me an apple.”
Xiao: “Mr. Mo Lan... once saved me from a terrible fate. But as a Yaksha skilled in battle, I couldn’t protect him.”
Zhongli: “My old friend? He’s quite a witty fellow, though spending time with him can be a little dangerous.”
Scaramouche: “Mo Lan? He’s... an idiot who always makes me worry.”
Razor: “Lan is friend. I like him.”
Bennett: “I really like being around him. Whenever we’re together, it feels like all my bad luck disappears.”
Tighnari: “Lan is a close friend of mine and Cyno’s. But... sigh, never mind. That’s all in the past.”
Cyno: “Lan is a reliable person, and he’s great at Genius Invokation TCG. It’s just a shame I haven’t played against him in ages.”
Kazuha: “Old friend, the maple leaves redden in autumn, and your steps grow heavy through the night. I only hope you’ll forgive me, Lan, for this long-overdue farewell.”
Heizou: “He seems able to see right into people’s hearts. He can break you down in an instant, or care for you with such tenderness that you want for nothing. But the promise he made me... he still hasn’t kept it.”
Xingqiu: “Mr. Lan is the very model of a chivalrous hero.”
Chongyun: “Lan is an excellent mentor, but unfortunately...”
The plot concept is very good, and the writing style is also good. However, there is a problem with the way the plot is presented. The jump between the present and the past is too abrupt. Perhaps what happened in the past can be written through dreams or the memories of relevant people. Also, the progress of the past timeline is too slow, and currently there is not much useful information for the current line. Putting aside the issue of acceptance, this book is actually quite good.
I think this is okay. It would be better if I changed the name.
