Doting on the Maid

Song Youtang’s greatest wish was to get promoted, earn more, and become the marquess’s household stewardess.

Instead, her mistress sent her to Gao Ji’s bed, where she became his concubine-in-waiting…

Gao Ji looked every bit the noble, aloof young gentleman, but he was not the least bit virtuous. In public, he was as refined as an orchid and graceful as jade. Behind closed doors, though, he seemed to want to press her into his very bones and blood…

To survive, Song Youtang was careful in everything and accommodating at every turn. She planned to wait until Gao Ji married, when he would dismiss her, then take her silver and disappear.

At crucial moments, Gao Ji would often ask, “What am I to you?” Song Youtang forced herself to endure it. “You are my sky and my earth, the only thing I have to look forward to in this life.”

But Gao Ji was still furious. One after another, people in the Gao household set their sights on his little concubine.

Eventually, Song Youtang grew tired. She no longer wanted to serve Gao Ji and tried to escape, only to find her belly growing bigger by the day…
