With neither father nor mother, Bao'er drifted into Dashu Village and nearly got sold, but the Qiao family rescued her at the critical moment.
Faced with the little Bao'er, who knew nothing when asked, Grandpa the village Party secretary decided to find her a good family to adopt her. But none of the villagers in Dashu Village wanted the little burden. Seeing Bao'er's sadness, Qiao Sanzhu stepped forward. “I'll take her. From today on, Bao'er is one of the Qiao family!”
Who knew that after Bao'er arrived at the Qiao home, her miraculous talent for identifying treasures would bring home all kinds of gold, stone, and jade artifacts, paintings and calligraphy by famous masters, and antique porcelain. Under her leadership, the unremarkable Qiao family flourished more with every passing day.
Only then did everyone realize that Bao'er wasn't a little burden at all. She was clearly a little lucky star!
