The Gentle CEO's Cherished One

(The male lead falls in love with the female lead at first sight; both leads are each other’s first and only, with no angst and plenty of sweetness.) Feng Yan stared into Yan Xi’s eyes, looking thoroughly unhappy, and said angrily, “I’ll let you take a job out of town, but you have to write me a promise!” Yan Xi asked in confusion, “A promise? What kind of promise?” Feng Yan replied with complete confidence, “A promise of love!” Yan Xi clasped his large hands in both of hers. “All right, all right, I’ll write one. Will eight hundred words do?” Feng Yan shook his head. “A promise you write has no legal standing. It doesn’t count!” Yan Xi pouted sadly and murmured, “Then what do you want me to do? What will it take for you to let me work out of town? Just name your terms. I’ll agree to anything!” Feng Yan planted a light kiss on the corner of her mouth, then asked, “Your household registration booklet is at home, right?” Yan Xi nodded blankly. “Yes. Why?” Feng Yan said solemnly, “Tomorrow morning at eight sharp, I’ll pick you up at the entrance to your residential compound. Remember to bring your household registration booklet and ID!” Yan Xi’s mouth fell open in a round O of astonishment. Feng Yan gently closed it for her, then said with a hint of menace, “If you dare run away, you’re dead!” And so, half threatened and half sweet-talked by Feng Yan, Yan Xi inexplicably went with him the next day to get married.
