NBA: From the Water Cooler to the Hall of Fame

The NBA was in turmoil in 2010. After Shaquille O'Neal left, Kobe proved himself. LeBron James teamed up with his friends in Miami during the offseason. Popovich’s trio of stars still had plenty of fight left, while the Celtics’ Big Three were already growing old. Then a Chinese-American teenager burst onto the scene, like a blinding beam of light cutting through the darkness. He held his head high amid the doubts and strode forward. MVP, scoring champion, assists leader, Defensive Player of the Year, NBA champion… Whenever his haters pointed out something he supposedly couldn’t do, he would crush them in the very next game! On the court, he was like a god, capable of anything. Wherever he went, a championship was sure to follow! He was the pride of people of East Asian descent and the pride of China. He was the greatest player in basketball history, the eternal champion, the undisputed king: Li Kaiming, the “Hand of God”!
