Divine Comedy

The long epic "Divine Comedy" (ca. 1307-1313) Is Dante's most important masterpiece and a landmark work in the history of European and world literature. The author narrates in the first person "I" and tells the story of the protagonist who found himself lost in the middle of his life and came to the foot of a hill shrouded in dawn. Just as he was about to climb the mountain, he was blocked by three wild beasts (leopard, lion, and wolf). In the crisis, the ancient Roman poet Virgil was entrusted by Beatrice to come to his rescue and guide him to visit hell and purgatory. Later, Beatrice personally guided him to visit heaven. The trilogy "Inferno", "Purgatory" and "Paradise" is a record of Dante's travels and experiences.
