Yandere + possessive + violent + unhinged
Shen Jiaxi once thought she had seized the rope that would pull her out of the abyss: her gentle, refined boyfriend, Chu Yuchen, represented the hope of a normal life. She planned to escape the gilded cage where she was imprisoned, and flee Tan Jinyi, the paranoid and deranged head of a top financial dynasty. As the black car carried her away from the flames reddening the sky behind her and toward an unknown freedom, she believed her nightmare was over.
But this silent escape was merely the prelude to an even greater storm. She didn’t know that the fire consuming the western side of the estate had not only swallowed the path she came from, but also branded a cruel mark foretelling the end of her brief “freedom.” In the end, she died in an “accident” personally engineered by someone she trusted.
An excellent rebirth novel should not just stay at the superficial satisfaction of "making up for regrets", but should also delve into the philosophical proposition of "how people should live after getting a second chance." Should you choose to indulge in the pleasure of revenge, or learn to forgive and let go? Is it to pursue the pinnacle in the worldly sense, or to find the truly important things that were missed in the previous life? When the protagonist stands at the crossroads of life, holding a new script in hand, what he/she ultimately chooses should be a more complete, richer "life" that understands how to love and be loved, not just a flawless "resume." True rebirth is not about going back to the past, but after making up for all the shortcomings, you can finally let go of your obsessions and calmly move towards a new and unknown future. This, perhaps, is the most valuable revelation this subject can bring to us.
Nice to watch, until. . . When I see myself ten years from now, all I want to say is "Awesome"
