Liu Ji (July 1, 1311 - May 16, 1375), courtesy name Bowen, was born in Qingtian, Zhejiang (now Wencheng, Zhejiang). He was a statesman and writer in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties, and the founding father of the Ming Dynasty.
During the Yuan and Shun years, Liu Ji was promoted to Jinshi. In the nineteenth year of Zhizheng (1359), he was invited by Zhu Yuanzhang. He wrote a letter stating eighteen policies on current affairs and was highly favored. Participated in planning military plans such as the pacification of Zhang Shicheng and Chen Youliang and the Northern Expedition to the Central Plains. In the first year of Wu (1367), he was appointed Taishi Ling and entered the "Wushen Datong Li". Please enact legislation to stop indiscriminate killing. After Zhu Yuanzhang ascended the throne, he petitioned for the establishment of a military and military law, and for the discipline and discipline to be corrected. He once admonished the establishment of the capital in Fengyang. In the third year of Hongwu (1370), he was granted the title of Uncle Chengyi, so he was also called Liu Chengyi. Returned the following year. Liu Ji lived in his hometown without any trace of Tao. He only drank wine and played chess without talking about his achievements. He was deprived of his salary due to a false accusation by the Prime Minister of the Left, Hu Weiyong. After entering Beijing to apologize, he died soon after. When Emperor Wuzong of the Ming Dynasty presented it to the Grand Master, he was given the posthumous title "Wencheng".
Liu Ji was proficient in astronomy, art of war, mathematics, etc., And was especially good at poetry. The poems are simple and majestic, and there are many works that criticize the corrupt rulers and sympathize with the suffering of the people. Together with Song Lian and Gao Qi, they are known as "the three great poets of the early Ming Dynasty". His works are all included in "Collected Works of Chengyibo".
Liu Ji assisted Zhu Yuanzhang in bringing peace to the world, and his plan was set and no one could predict it. Zhu Yuanzhang called him "my son's wife" many times. Among the Chinese people, there is also a saying that "Zhuge Liang divides the world into three parts, and Liu Bowen dominates the country; Zhuge Liang, the military advisor of the former dynasty, and Liu Bowen, the military advisor of the later dynasty".
