As members of a special forces assault team, none of them has a name, an identity, or any record. They are mysterious warriors whose only identity is their codename. Luo Tian, codenamed Cold Blade, is a formidable close-combat expert. The other four members are also elite solo operatives: Blood Eagle, a battlefield sniper who once placed first in the Third Army for outdoor shooting at a thousand meters and was reputed to never miss; Blood Wolf and Blood Leopard, assault team members who could keep anyone at bay as long as they had an A4 in hand, earning them the name “Jungle Killers”; and Blood Fox, a female scout skilled in close-range assassinations and infiltrating enemy camps.
Cold Blade made sure the field team stayed hidden as the patrol ahead drew closer. His attention was fixed on the bunker up front, where two M60s were stationed. The assault team had already come within machine-gun range. He remembered the mission brief clearly: “Capture the number two leader, Ganluofu.” Ganluofu had recently planned a terrorist attack that left thirteen people dead and more than a hundred injured to varying degrees. He had then escaped the citywide manhunt that followed.
Acting on orders from the military command, a small assault team had secretly infiltrated the area outside the base. They had to capture Ganluofu within seven days, and were expressly ordered to bring him back alive for interrogation at headquarters. But it seemed Ganluofu had received a tip-off. He had stayed inside the base without stepping out once. The team could only keep watch outside. With less than three hours left before the mission deadline, if Ganluofu didn’t show himself, they would have no choice but to risk a frontal assault on the base. The garrison numbered at least three thousand. Every member of the team knew that if they stormed it, making it out alive would take a miracle.
