Reborn as Chongzhen, I Diligently Protect the Great Ming

When we examine history, we find that Chongzhen truly worked tirelessly during his reign, laboring from dawn until dusk. Among the Ming emperors, he was himself a highly capable ruler. Compared with his grandfather, who went more than twenty years without attending court or meeting with his ministers, and his elder brother, who indulged in wine and women and could not govern the realm, but was an excellent carpenter, Chongzhen’s diligence made him a model of industriousness among emperors. Yet this young and talented ruler hoped to revive the empire, and worked tirelessly to make that hope a reality. His efforts, diligence, determination, and dreams brought not a revitalized empire, but its downfall. On a cold spring night, with nowhere left to turn, he would kill his wife and children before taking his own life.

What would happen if a modern person found himself in Chongzhen’s body in 1628? The answer, and the story behind it, will be revealed in this book.
