A Budget Traveler on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway

I have a lifelong friend named Wang An who’s especially obsessed with traveling the Sichuan-Tibet Highway.

I asked him why he was so fixated on it. He told me there was a special attraction along the route that drew him in: the women who traveled the Sichuan-Tibet Highway on a shoestring budget.

I thought it would be a blissful trip.

But then we really did meet one of those women, and after everything we went through,

I was still shaking my head over it long after it was all over.

I’ll never go to the Sichuan-Tibet Highway again for as long as I live.
