I was a wild child abandoned by my mother at birth.
Only because I was a girl.
My mother knew I would threaten her place in the family, so after giving birth to me, she fled in the middle of the night and vanished without a trace.
On the day I died, at my funeral,
my father played cards with his friends while my grandmother welcomed the guests to the feast,
as if they were celebrating my wedding.
After burying me, my father returned home, drenched in sweat from exhaustion, and immediately fell asleep.
In the dead of night, I sat by his bed and watched his peaceful face. I couldn't help reaching out to gently stroke his cheek and softly call to him:
“Daddy, you're sleeping so soundly.”
