He is a permanent resident of the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion, and also a disciple of the Profound Sword Sect.
Xu Linhe is one of the few young people in the mountains who has inherited the teachings of two sects.
He was first chosen by the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion. Later, he went with his master to visit the Profound Sword Sect and somehow gained the chance to learn one of its techniques, a legacy on the verge of dying out.
As a result, they forcibly kept him there and made him study the Profound Sword Sect’s secret arts for two years.
The Heavenly Secrets Pavilion had produced a sage-level figure like Guiguzi, so it was naturally very good at reasoning with people. It would never accept such a loss. After arguing with the Profound Sword Sect on and off for exactly two years, it successfully brought Xu Linhe back to the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion, by which point he had learned almost all the essentials of the sect’s teachings.
Officially, he was a disciple shared by both sects.
But everyone knew where he was, and which sect he would devote more effort to carrying on in the future.
On the day he was brought back to the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion, Xu Linhe saw how pleased his master looked and knew there was more to this than met the eye.
Xu Linhe had two masters.
Each had a catchphrase.
His master from the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion always said, “That may not necessarily be the case...”
His master from the Profound Sword Sect had just two words: “Good-for-nothing!”
