After Graduation, I Went Home to Manage a Mountain

Synopsis: After graduating, Yan Qi runs into one dead end after another in her job hunt. Despite attending a prestigious university, she chose agriculture, a major considered the fifth great dead-end after biochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, and environmental science. Companies either only want male applicants or expect her to do nothing but manual labor. With no other choice, she casts a wide net online and eventually gets hired by a company called “Mountain King.” The name sounds sketchy, so Yan Qi doesn’t take it seriously. Then she gets bound to the so-called company System.

They say you get your own mountain as soon as you join. That sounds like a scam. They also say all the income goes to you and making a million a month is no dream. How can that not be a scam? How many college graduates make a million a month these days?

System: We’ll pay your salary upfront.

Yan Qi: This job is practically tailor-made for me. Getting assigned a mountain is right up my alley. I’m in.
