My Childhood Sweetheart Is a Hopeless Romantic

The Mu family was a renowned family of scholars in the capital, whose ancestors had mastered the art of crafting the Four Treasures of the Study. Sadly, the Mu family’s only daughter, Mu Xi, was hopelessly lovesick. While others spent their time working on math problems, Miss Mu played games with handsome young men. While others reviewed vocabulary during morning study, Miss Mu made them loving breakfasts...

Then one day, she saw with her own eyes as the poor boy casually tossed the breakfast she had lovingly made into the trash...

Later, the Mu family received a shipment of counterfeit goods and went under. Mu Xi’s parents were frantic, borrowing money wherever they could. Everyone said that the light had gone out of Miss Mu’s eyes. She cut ties with her old crowd of wastrels and became a true lady of a distinguished family. The poor boy was acknowledged by his family and became a rich young master, while Miss Mu agreed to marry the eldest son of the Xi family in hopes of saving the Mu family.

On a rainy night, the poor boy clutched all the shares his family owned, eyes bloodshot, watching the Xi and Mu families laugh and chat as they said goodbye outside the Great Four Happiness Gate...

“You were the one who fell for me first. Why don’t you want me anymore...?”
