Yu Xi is a young woman from the Spirit Realm, with an exceptionally high standing. She is a branch of the sacred tree from which the Spirit Realm's founding ancestor became a spirit. For thousands of years, she had no consciousness, but the moment she took human form, she became the highest-ranking tree spirit after that ancestor. Even the Four Great Elders would greet her with, “Have you eaten yet?”
Yet she spends her days neglecting her duties, ignoring her cultivation, scampering about and causing trouble. She might break branches and flowers to weave a wreath in a spirit garden where plants are about to gain sentience, or bully a newly awakened flower spirit until its nose turns red from crying. All the little spirits in the clan give her a wide berth. If she vanishes for even a moment, she can scale even the Spirit Venerable's courtyard wall, setting off sparks as she goes. Even Auntie Mu, the most hot-tempered person in the clan, gives her a wide berth. But because of Yu Xi's senior status, no one dares discipline her, so they can only send her to the long-secluded founding ancestor to keep her in check. Before a thousand years have passed, however, that revered ancestor, praised and admired throughout the Six Realms, kicks her down the mountain to gain experience. Yu Xi lights up at the news, and happily sets off early the next morning, determined to travel across all Six Realms. But the moment she reaches the foot of the mountain, she freezes. Why are people in the Six Realms even more familiar with her than she is with them?
The human realm's empress's heir greets her with a bear hug; the ruler of the Ghost Realm calls her “Master” as soon as he opens his mouth; the immaculate and aloof ruler of the Immortal Realm smiles at her like a flower. Even the most mysterious ruler of the Beast Realm is asking to be petted.
Yu Xi tentatively asks, “Then... shall I pet you too?” The jade-like young man blushes at the ears, glances up at her, and gives an imperious nod.
Yu Xi: ...How does any of this make sense?!
