History Is Actually Quite Fun

Though the ancients of bygone eras have long since fallen into eternal sleep, a change in their thinking or the way they handled a particular matter could profoundly affect the development of human society in later generations, and even their own fates. This book takes historical figures as its starting point, revisiting vivid moments from history through the stories of people and events. Together with readers, it patiently considers the rights and wrongs, joys and sorrows of those who lived in the past. History can serve as a mirror, and reflection can deepen our understanding. If these fascinating and weighty accounts of history help us handle the present better and avoid the mistakes we might otherwise make, then the course of events that unfolded in the past can reveal a different value when we understand it anew.
