[Cover kindly sponsored by Mrs. Li *^▽^*] Feng Hanze, courtesy name Boyun, was the legitimate son of the Prince of Zhenbei of the Great Wu Dynasty. A prodigy in martial arts from childhood, he was already famous across the grasslands at just twelve years old. Three years later, he fought his way to fame as the "Northern Wind Tiger General."
The world was divided into one hundred parts. The seven great dynasties controlled eighty percent, while the remaining countries shared the other twenty. The seven were the Great Wu Dynasty, hegemon of the north-central lands; the Great Yan Dynasty, ruler of Youyun; the Great Yue Dynasty, the lion of the seas; the Great Chu Dynasty, whose might awed the hundred tribes; the Great Qin Dynasty, master of the Silk Road; the Great Shu Dynasty, land of heavenly abundance; and the Great Qi Dynasty, the kingdom of a thousand islands. The remaining states, such as Wei and Jin, could only survive in the cracks between them.
In the 263rd year of the Warring States calendar, the Great Yan Dynasty and the Great Qi Dynasty went to war, each sending an army of three hundred thousand to battle at the mouth of the Lan River. The Great Chu Dynasty's two-hundred-thousand-strong navy sailed east along the Cang River and clashed with the Great Yue Dynasty several times. Before the Shu Emperor of the Great Shu Dynasty died, he failed to name an heir. The resulting struggle for the throne saw four princes form factions and plunged the country into civil war. The thirty-six countries of the Western Regions gathered an army of three hundred thousand to attack Yumen Pass, where they faced off against the Great Qin Dynasty. The Great Wu Dynasty, too, came under attack from the grassland nations. And so the story begins.
