Synopsis

Pao Ge was a secret social organization active in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River before 1949. Its influence was comparable to that of the Qinggang and Hongmen. At its peak, about 70% of adult men in Sichuan Province joined, and its influence reached every corner. It had a huge influence on the Sichuan Army and the Hunan Army, and was also an important force in the revolution of the late Qing Dynasty.
