My Blind Date Became My Direct Boss

The first time they met, Lu Yiming looked at the radiant woman before him. “You’re different.”

“How so?” Shen Xin asked with a smile.

“You want me, don’t you?”

Resting her chin in her hands, she said, “That’s right. So... what do you think of me?”

Lu Yiming’s eyes brimmed with tenderness. “I feel the same.”

When Shen Xin was eight, she fell into darkness. From then on, she was afraid to close her eyes in the pitch black. She treated love like a game and never dated anyone for more than a year, until she met Lu Yiming.

Their one-night stand began on a dating and marriage website. Shen Xin never expected that this bespectacled man, whose eyes sparkled when he smiled, would become a prison for her heart.

Lu Yiming said, “If I could, I’d have met you sooner. I’d travel back through time and meet you even earlier, so that fifteen-year-old Lu Yiming could find eight-year-old Shen Xin. I’d wipe away her tears in the dark and tell her that the night isn’t only darkness: it’s full of shining stars, too.

“If she doesn’t have the strength to look up, then I’ll be the one to pluck the stars for her.”
