This book is composed of 27 articles selected from Mr. Hong Zicheng's more than ten academic works and other published articles. It strives to present the essence of Mr. Hong's research on the history of contemporary Chinese literature in a concise and concentrated manner. In the form of three albums, this book highlights his most representative and breakthrough research results, highlights the important issues, ideas, methods and categories he provided for contemporary literary research, and also attempts to present his thinking and advancement on related issues in different ways at different stages of research. The ten selected articles in the first volume are generally titled "Literary History: Issues and Methods", the second volume is generally titled "Reading and Reading History", and the third volume is generally titled "Materials and Annotations".

This book is very rich in content, and Mr. Hong's research covers many fields of contemporary Chinese literature. He has many unique insights and methods in the study of literary history, which benefit people a lot. However, I kind of disliked some of the overly theoretical content in the book, which made it a bit cryptic to read. But overall, this is a book worth reading, especially for those who are interested in contemporary Chinese literature.
