Investiture of the Gods: I Just Want to Lie Flat, but Di Xin Can Hear My Thoughts

[Also known as: Nuwa’s Evil Corpse, Transformed into a Nine-Tailed Fox]

Yin Lang transmigrated as Di Xin’s eldest son and gained the Couch Potato System: as long as he spent each day lazing around, he would receive rewards. So Yin Lang began his laid-back life. Little did he know that Di Xin could hear his inner thoughts. As a result, the story of the Investiture of the Gods went off the rails:

After Di Xin offered incense at Nuwa Palace, he went and smashed the place up.

Di Xin: “Lang’er’s plan is pretty good. I’ll pretend I’m being controlled and smash Nuwa Palace...”

The nine-tailed fox who was supposed to enter the palace became Nuwa’s evil corpse instead.

Nuwa: “Although you didn’t mean to, you did write that poem. So I’ll give you a little punishment as a warning. I’ll send my evil corpse down there in person, and have her investigate the person behind you while she’s at it...”

The story took another huge turn when Su Hu brought Daji to apologize.

Di Xin: “Daji is stunningly beautiful, virtuous, and kind. And the Crown Prince is already of age. Therefore, I grant Daji to the Crown Prince in marriage. They may wed at once.”

Yin Lang was speechless. [Damn, first I inexplicably became the Crown Prince, and now the fox spirit has gone from being King Zhou’s consort to being my wife? I just want to lie flat!]

Nuwa: “Damn it, I was already making a huge concession by calling you husband. Now I have to call you Father King too. How am I supposed to investigate the person behind Di Xin now? Di Xin, just you wait...”

Years later, Nuwa’s evil corpse, with a pair of fox ears on her head and nine swaying tails behind her, confronted her true self, Nuwa, in Wa Huang Palace. “So what if I’m shameless? So what if I want to look like this to please my husband? At least I’m richer than you, my true self!”
