“Princess Xi He, stop running and come back with us!”
Bo Xi stopped before the marshes of the Demon Realm and looked back at the immortal soldiers pursuing her. They dared not come any closer.
“My name is Bo Xi, not Xi He. That title is nothing but a shackle keeping me trapped in this immortal capital.”
Each word rang out with conviction.
But no one cared.
The commander held the Divine-Slaying Sword, his expression troubled. “Please believe us, Princess! The Heavenly Emperor ordered us not to harm you. He still trusts you!”
Bo Xi let out a cold laugh and summoned the divine weapon Wang Gui, gathering her spiritual power into a Feathered Arrow.
“I’m nothing but an adopted daughter he took in to win people’s favor. How could he trust me?”
The commander nodded anxiously, trying to produce the imperial decree to prove it to Bo Xi.
She gave him no chance. Enduring the searing demonic flames, she summoned every last bit of strength to draw Wang Gui.
Blood kept spilling from the corner of her mouth, yet the defiant figure did not retreat an inch.
“Too bad. I don’t trust him.”
As soon as the words fell, the arrow shot toward the immortal soldiers with a force that tore through the air.
The commander immediately raised the Divine-Slaying Sword to defend himself. Bo Xi seized the moment to retrieve Wang Gui, then turned and leaped into the marshes of the Demon Realm without a backward glance.
“Princess!”
The commander broke through his defenses and, braving the searing demonic flames, rushed to the edge of the marsh. But he no longer had the strength to take another step.
Just then, Bo Xi’s voice rang out through the Nine Hells.
“Go back and tell the Heavenly Emperor: from this day forward, I, Bo Xi, renounce the immortal capital and stand against all of you!”
