[Unrequited Love + Reunion After Years Apart + Mutual Healing + A Little Heartbreak] Years after they last met, Luo Bai is still a city career woman, worn down by office life. Jiang Xincheng has become a rising star in tech, admired by everyone. One late night, Luo Bai throws herself into Jiang Xincheng's arms and says she can't let him leave. But the next moment, she keeps calling him “Mr. Jiang,” distant as ever. Jiang Xincheng is always proposing to Luo Bai. “Xiaobai, let's get married.” She doesn't know that this has always been his bottom line. She thinks he's joking. Luo Bai wants to make an awkward confession, but feels she's getting ahead of herself. They're both pursuing what they want. In the end, all Jiang Xincheng wants is for her to stay by his side, while all Luo Bai wants is to gaze at him for a little while. “If you run away next time, could you take me with you? I've waited for you so long. I think if I'm closer to you, I can keep going.” Just as he once appeared to Luo Bai in her darkest hour. One always retreats in the shadows, refusing the light. The other always stands in the light, embracing the darkness. When dawn breaks, its light falls upon the one I love. But when the day comes to look back... If you ask me why I chose him, it's because he's always been my only choice. If you ask me why it's her, it's because she's the only one I've ever wanted.
