[Fantasy martial arts] It begins with three masked men in black, sent by the Lingyou Fire Holy Sect to Lin'an City to steal an alchemy furnace from Baojian Temple in the dead of night. The following excerpt from Chapter 12, “The Divine Artifact of Baojian Temple,” serves as the core introduction.
By the time the temple’s eight oil lamps had gone out at once, several soldiers had been injured, and the thieves had fled through the front gate, four or five hours had passed. Before the wealthy patrons could even grow worried, the authorities were already hot on the case.
This divine artifact is called the “Tongyuan Artifact.” People know only that the Hall of Primordial Unity possesses an alchemy treasure. Everyone who has taken pills made with it feels clear-headed and full of energy, as though they had consumed some miraculous elixir. No one can quite explain it, but it is said to be like the immortal pills of Taishang Laojun, granting long life and eternal youth.
Baojian Temple thus became famous far and wide. In time, the martial world’s evil sect, the Lingyou Fire Holy Sect, discovered that this alchemy artifact could greatly enhance the cultivation of supreme martial arts.
And so came the scene of three masked men in black rushing out through the front gate. By sheer coincidence, the trio were spotted on a grassy clearing by Han, Dai, and Jin, who were passing along the slope above.
