I Joined Rocks from the Start and Kept a Low Profile Until the Summit War

Synopsis:

A Xiu transmigrates to the world of One Piece and gains all three types of Haki, at the cost of having to survive until the Paramount War and appear as a great pirate to mediate the conflict.

Afterward, he meets Rocks in his youth and discovers that the timeline is still more than sixty years away from the Paramount War. To fill those long decades, he takes on a side quest: becoming Rocks’s right-hand man, helping him recruit Edward Newgate, Golden Lion Shiki, Captain John, Charlotte Linlin, Kaido, and others, and supporting Rocks as he rises to become the strongest ruler of the seas.

Twenty years later, Rocks falls at the Battle of God Valley. He entrusts his son, Shanks, to A Xiu’s care and asks him to conceal the boy’s pirate heritage, so he can live out a peaceful life.

A Xiu keeps his promise and retires with Shanks and his own son, Buggy. But when Shanks grows a little older, he develops a desire to become a pirate and persuades Buggy to set sail with him. He eventually joins the Roger Pirates as an apprentice.

Worried for Shanks, A Xiu comes out of retirement and joins the Roger Pirates, following Roger all the way to the final island. After the Roger Pirates secretly disband, Roger is publicly executed in Loguetown. The heroes of one era pass into history, a new era rises, and the Great Age of Piracy begins.

A Xiu wants no further part in it and chooses to retire once more. Thinking Shanks is now an adult, he tells him about his father, only to discover that Shanks already knows everything. Roger’s death, guiding Luffy to become a pirate and overthrow the World Government: it was all part of Shanks’s plan for revenge.
