Warmongering

[War and Slaughter] [Chivalry and Statecraft] [Ensemble Cast Told Through Multiple Viewpoints]

War is essential to governing and the cornerstone of a nation. A well-equipped army ensures survival, while inferior armor leaves a nation vulnerable. The fate of a nation's prosperity and decline depends on this, and those who survey the world cannot afford to ignore it. Yet if military strength becomes the standard for governance, and policies to ensure the people's well-being and prosperity are neglected, the nation will eventually be consumed by its own power. Then the court will fall into chaos, the realm will be shrouded in darkness and turmoil, and peace will become impossible. Today, I carry a hundred pieces of gold and ask the people of this land: How can we quell unrest without breeding cruelty? How can we restore the people's prosperity without leaving them in fear?
