Lin Mo transmigrates into a book. She assumes she’s taken the place of Lin Mo, the love-struck character in the story, never imagining that she has other connections in this world. As she cultivates in seclusion, her consciousness sometimes wanders outside her body. Sometimes she inhabits a clone; sometimes she becomes an ordinary waiter from the mortal realm. The only thing linking these two identities to Lin Mo is their similar eyes. She has even disguised herself as a man, but whenever she returns to her original body, she has no memory of what happened during that time. As a result, a whole crowd of men and women inexplicably fall madly in love with her, ready to bang their heads against a wall for her, while Lin Mo, back in her own body, remains completely oblivious. She only cares about cultivating harder, because if she doesn’t push herself in her quest for immortality, she’ll die.
The book Lin Mo transmigrates into is a mash-up of The Domineering Prince’s Clumsy Little Princess and The Emperor’s Runaway Bride. Lin Mo struggles to survive in the cracks between the two stories. Her adoptive mother, Chang Fangqin, is the heroine of one of the tortured-yet-sweet romance novels. As her obedient “son” in disguise, Lin Mo’s life is constantly threatened by a certain domineering prince, who wants nothing more than to see her dead!
So with her consciousness in her original body, Lin Mo has no choice but to work herself to the bone.
Since she has no memories, Lin Mo also can’t understand why a spiritual crane would willingly become her pet just to serve its master’s keepsake, why the guard Ling Feng would give her his heart after failing to seduce her, or why someone would gaze at her with sick, obsessive devotion and say, “Even if you become my junior brother, I’ll still have you.”
Lin Mo: ???
She silently pulls her male disguise tighter around herself.
After transmigrating into a book, she only wants to be a good senior brother. She won’t do anything else, so keep your distance!
P.S. Just go with the brainless fun. It’s an unconventional, over-the-top Mary Sue story.
