A Hundred-Year-Old Little Zongzi, a Nine Gates Treasure Hunt, and the Qi Family Conman

There's a kind of transmigration called transmigrating into poverty: no golden finger, no pocket dimension, and arriving utterly alone. Qi Yan thought she'd transmigrate into ancient times like the heroine of a novel and become a powerful female lead. Reality, however, was harsh. She became a zongzi in DMBJ, dead for a hundred years: a Tianshan medicine person and a family heirloom recorded in black and white by her Qi ancestors, capable of healing the dead and bringing bones back to life.

Qi Yan, now the real-life equivalent of Tang Monk's flesh, was not happy. People kept prying open her coffin and coveting her immortality and medicinal constitution. This zongzi was not happy at all, and whenever she got upset, she wanted to kill a few people. Then one day, when the Qi family and the Nine Gates turned their deadly rivalry over the Qi family heirloom into a full-blown treasure hunt, Qi Yan declared that she'd go with whoever could afford to support her.

As someone who could be tossed into a pot with peppercorns and spices to get rid of the smell at any moment, Qi Yan felt no sense of crisis whatsoever. This treasure was for looking at from afar, not up close.

“You brat, you're one of the Qi family. Who are you planning to go feed?”

“Even zongzi have dignity. If you want to eat me, you should at least ask me first.”

The Nine Gates watched the plump, well-fed zongzi and suddenly understood.

“Right, we're supposed to use her as medicine.”
