Consort Hua: If You Don't Want to Be Emperor, I'll Take the Job

When Consort Nian confronts Zhen Huan, she learns the truth about the Auspicious Fragrance the Emperor gave her. Suddenly, she sees everything clearly and resolves to take revenge on the Emperor, so she fakes her death and leaves the palace.

Disguised and hiding in the home of a friend who was once close to Nian Gengyao, she has no idea that after shutting her heart off to love, she will meet a man who has returned from the West: a refined gentleman, graceful and learned.

A domineering, unhinged young lady × a gentle, calculating, secretly unhinged young gentleman

Come see how Consort Hua builds factories, makes a fortune, and buys cannons in an age when capitalism is just beginning to emerge!

Women should stay home, serve their husbands, and raise children? Slap!

Merchants are looked down on as base and unworthy? Slap!

Foreigners come with ill intentions? Slap!

Our goal is to overthrow this dynasty. If you don't want to be Emperor, I'll do it myself.

With Du Ziqing, who knows Capital from cover to cover, guiding and supporting her, Consort Hua just keeps slapping people as she builds a great empire amid the chaos.

Of course, once enlightened, Consort Hua has sound values and does not kill indiscriminately. If someone displeases her, she slaps them. If someone wrongs her, she gets revenge on the spot. This is a farming-and-wealth-building story dressed up as a face-slapping power fantasy. It features business rivalries, isn't dumbed down, and has no golden finger. I'll try to keep the writing style close to the TV drama Empresses in the Palace. There are countless liberties taken with the source material, so readers who care about historical accuracy should proceed with caution. There will be a coup, but she will not become Emperor.
