On the day of his wedding, Gu Tingyao, the older brother of the male lead Gu Tingchuan, chased after Lin Zhi as she fled the marriage. Their cars crashed and exploded. Gu Tingyao’s body was found below a cliff, while Lin Zhi disappeared. They had a child before the wedding, Gu Jingyi, who was raised by Gu Tingchuan.
Five years later, Gu Tingchuan saw Lu Xiqiao at a gathering. She looked remarkably like Lin Zhi, and he mistook her for her. To get revenge, he schemed to force her into marriage and take her by force. He even believed that Lu Xiqiao had undergone surgery to restore her virginity. He humiliated her at every turn.
Gu Tingchuan: “Lu Xiqiao, you say you’re not Lin Zhi, so why does your DNA test show a 99.99 percent match with Yiyi?”
Lu Xiqiao: “I don’t know what’s going on! I really am not Lin Zhi!”
Gu Tingchuan: “There’s plenty of time. You’ll admit it eventually!”
