Legend of the Nine Emperors

[No formulaic tropes, no invincible protagonist, no System, no brainless plot, no padding. The story takes its time, so proceed with caution if that bothers you.]

High in the halls of power, those coveting the throne stir restlessly, brewing murderous schemes and stirring up a world of intrigue and upheaval.

Far from the halls of power, those who roam the martial world uphold justice, punish the wicked, and use their martial prowess to defy the law, driven by passionate hearts devoted to their country and people.

This is a martial arts tale set during the Yongle era of the Ming dynasty. A group of people from vastly different backgrounds are brought together by fate and coincidence to confront various forces of evil and darkness. Eccentric talents, major sects, and mysterious organizations all take the stage. Some act out of selfish desire, others for the safety of the realm. Amid flashing blades, love, and hatred, they weave an extraordinary legend of the martial world.
