# Dual Female Leads
This is a story about two girls growing up side by side.
Zhou Jianxi is preparing for graduate school entrance exams. With her friend Le Zhi's help, she meets He Jinshu, a literary editor, on an app, breaking her vow not to date until after she gets into grad school. But it is precisely He Jinshu's companionship along a difficult road that helps her keep going, see the light, and reach the finish line.
Though the two fall for each other while Zhou Jianxi is studying for her exams, they both know they can't cross the line. Their two years of companionship have long since grown beyond friendship, and they yearn for a deeper bond. After Zhou Jianxi gets into grad school, she confesses to He Jinshu first.
But their story doesn't end there. Zhou Jianxi, who specializes in Tang history, will find ways to shine in her work, while He Jinshu becomes increasingly adept at hers. Each shines in her own field.
Nothing momentous happens. Time simply passes, but they remain unchanged, staying by each other's side year after year. They go from being a little immature to mature and steady, but they are still themselves, and they keep loving each other.
In the end, they stay together until their hair turns white. Whether amid bustling streets or the pursuit of fame and fortune, nothing can change the love they share.
