The world is divided into twelve space-times, including Hai Space-Time. (The space-times are divided into twelve and named after the twelve two-hour periods of the day.)
In the year 2023,
A virus ran rampant. Humanity developed a virus that prevented people from feeling pain but made them go berserk upon contact with water. It spread mainly through blood and was more vicious than rabies. They named it the Blood Plague.
The virus caused devastating casualties.
Then Heaven unleashed its wrath, and torrential rain poured down.
That year was named the Vast Year.
The moon's tides shifted, releasing vast amounts of spiritual energy. Humanity found it easier to cultivate and began comprehending various abilities through the practice of the Dao. Combining the five elements of spiritual energy with cultivation led to the Great Dao.
Spiritual energy cultivation was the Great Dao that ghosts sought to absorb.
The Alliance Leader of Hai Space-Time wrote the Ghost Pact, allowing all ghosts to choose a world where the remaining humans lived and help the people who had formed spirit pacts with them save the world. This space-time is facing a crisis of the walking dead, as well as attacks from exotic beasts. The brothers An Sheng and Li Yujie form spirit pacts with Li Mu and Zhao Gao, gaining powerful abilities as they search for answers and try to save the world amid the apocalypse.
