The Loyal General's Sweet, Delicate Lady

[A seemingly delicate and vulnerable orphan with a cunning streak vs. a domineering, passionate, loyal, and utterly devoted general]

In Zhiyan’s eyes, her cousin was a refined gentleman, as pure and serene as a gentle breeze beneath a clear sky. She used her delicate appearance to create every opportunity she could, hoping to make him fall at her feet.

But why was it that every time she contrived a chance to spend time with her cousin, all her little schemes ended up being used on that young general instead? Could someone please explain what was going on?

The first time Xiao Xuanyuan saw Zhiyan, he was captivated by the sweet, delicate girl.

What he never expected was that she had two completely different sides. When her cousin was around, she was coy and spoke in a soft, sweet voice. But when she was with him, she kept him at arm’s length, as if all that delicate vulnerability had been an act.

She wouldn’t even bother pretending in front of him, which only made him more interested in her.

He was willing to risk his life for her. Though he couldn’t swim, he still jumped in to save her when she fell into the water, only for her to pull him back onto shore instead.

She had clearly rejected his feelings, yet he kept clinging to her. And when she was drugged with an aphrodisiac, he flatly declared that he was hers and demanded that she take responsibility for him.

He was a formidable young general, but in front of her he turned into a clingy, affectionate puppy, always asking her for kisses and cuddles.

It was his attraction to her two-faced nature that started it all. Who could have guessed he was even more of a hypocrite than Yan’er? Cold and stern in front of others, but with her he was all, “Yan’er, come cuddle,” and “Wifey, come give me a kiss.”
