Genshin Impact: As the Grand Archbishop, I Conquer Teyvat

[Genshin Impact fanfic, not Honkai, no CP!! The Archons are the original Genshin Impact characters.]

Bai Yu awakens from a deep slumber. The Heavenly Principles offers him a tempting deal and invites him to play a game of chess, with all of Teyvat as the board: the Seven Archons, the Heavenly Principles, the Abyss, and outsiders... What choice will Bai Yu make? His memories say he came to Teyvat during the Archon War, but could those memories be mistaken? To uncover the truth, Bai Yu will set out on a journey with Lumine under a new identity.

“Huh? You... you're Bai Yu. Weren't you asleep?” A certain carefree Anemo Archon exclaims in astonishment at seeing his old friend after all this time.

“How is my sister? Never mind, I must have mistaken you for someone else.” The old gentleman, now in retirement, can only turn a thousand words into a sigh.

“Are you the person who came looking for [Apep]? And the Anemo Archon and Geo Archon are with you. I'm still young, so I don't know you. But I hope we can become friends someday.” Nahida smiles warmly and holds out her hand to Bai Yu.

“Why have you come? You were involved in what happened back then too. We have nothing to discuss.” Her icy words keep everyone at a distance, yet beneath the coldness lies a motherly tenderness.

“My child, you are the master of this world, and you alone.” The aged voice reaches Bai Yu's ears, filling him with an inexplicable irritation.

The protagonist is named Bai Yu, a name taken from the final two lines of Cen Shen's poem To Du Shiyi of the Left Secretariat: “White hair mourns the falling blossoms; green feathers envy birds in flight.” The character “green” has been changed to “white.” The name expresses a longing for freedom and a heart that still holds compassion; “white” means pure and unblemished.
