This book tells the wonderful life of Chinese American civil rights activist Wang Qingfu who fought tirelessly for equal rights for his compatriots. At the end of the 19th century, the U. S. Economy was in decline and the unemployment rate was high. Some Americans blamed this on Chinese workers. Anti-Chinese forces gradually increased, and the U. S. Congress finally passed the Chinese Exclusion Act. In order to defend the rights and interests of the Chinese, Wang Qingfu published articles in major newspapers and magazines in the United States, gave speeches everywhere, openly debated with anti-China people, actively promoted Chinese traditional culture, and corrected the prejudice against the Chinese in American society. He is a pioneer in the American Chinese equal rights movement and is known as the "Chinese Martin Luther King."
