Chen Bin never imagined that in 2009 he would be admitted to Jingxi Normal University to study chemistry and materials chemistry, one of those notoriously dead-end majors. What surprised him even more was that in 2013 he headed south to Shenzhen and, full of indignation, became one of the city’s many migrant workers.
