Wangxian: A Chance to Start Over

After the siege at the Burial Mounds, Lan Wangji was recovering in a quiet room after being severely punished with the Discipline Whip. When a young disciple told him what had happened, he secretly made his way to the Burial Mounds, dragging his battered body along. After searching everywhere, he found Wen Yuan in a hollow tree, but not the one he loved. Wei Wuxian, who was already dead and existed only as a wisp of spirit, watched Lan Wangji stumble to the Burial Mounds and call his name again and again, confessing his unspoken love over and over. Then he followed Lan Wangji back to the Cloud Recesses, where he witnessed Lan Wangji die from worsening injuries that went untreated. As Wei Wuxian stood there, utterly at a loss, he was reborn one month after the deaths of the Wei couple. Before he could even process what had happened, Lan Wangji, who had been reborn three hours earlier, took him back to the Cloud Recesses.
