Synopsis

This book is revised based on the author's many years of teaching reform practice. The content includes random events and probability, discrete random variables and their distribution, continuous random variables and their distribution, mathematical characteristics of random variables, limits of random variable sequences, introduction to the basics of modern probability theory, basic concepts of mathematical statistics, parameter estimation, hypothesis testing, regression analysis and variance analysis. Each chapter in the book is accompanied by a considerable number of exercises, and the reference answers to the exercises are provided at the end of the book for readers to refer to. This book is based on the teaching syllabus formulated by the Ministry of Education and closely follows the master's entrance examination syllabus, and uses it to standardize the terminology and notation in probability statistics.
