Just as Liming had finished his college entrance exams, his parents set off on a trip. He thought it was nothing more than a vacation, but after only a few days, they vanished without a trace. The only proof they were still alive was a letter that arrived at the end of every month.
With no other choice, Liming and his younger sister took out student loans to attend school. Later, thanks to his excellent grades, Liming went abroad to study. After graduating in a hurry, he managed to do fairly well, and kept earning money to support his sister through school.
Then, blinded by greed, he went looking for a bargain at a foreign antique market, only to run into an old man trying to scam him.
Liming: "That's a nice ring you have there. It even lights up."
Ring: (×_×).
Liming: …Old man, your LED's not working right.
The old man was about to collapse, and Liming was forced to take the strange ring, along with the bizarre cultivation technique he acquired because of it.
