Record of Immortal Destiny

A serious historical fantasy. A Qing Dynasty scholar dreams beneath a peach tree. The Qing Dynasty in this book has no connection to history.

The recluse Ye Zhiqiu writes the Record of the Hidden, documenting seventy-two immortal adepts, eighty-one divine monks, thirty-six sect leaders, twenty-four extraordinary heroes, and one hundred and eight unaffiliated cultivators. Yilong, the true master who leads the Shenxiao Sect, ranks first among the three great Taoist immortals. His junior fellow disciple Zhulong rebels against the Zhangren Abbey. At the time, the imperial court favors Buddhism and suppresses Taoism, and the conflict between the two faiths grows ever fiercer. Heroes across the land seek to reopen the road to Heaven. Just then, a Japanese delegation arrives at court, secretly plotting to destroy the dragon veins. The Taoists step forward to fight them with magic, and the old Maoshan master dies in battle...
