Bookish Han

The Great Han, a mighty dynasty whose name gave a people their name. Its strength lay not only in the sharpness of its armies, but also in the power of its court. Even when the people suffered in the later years of Emperor Wu, the Han’s pride and commanding spirit had already become part of its very nature.

It brought the Western Regions under its sway, crushed the Western Qiang, and subdued the Xiongnu. Inspired by the great achievements of Emperor Xuan, it sought to restore the Han’s former strength and usher in a revival, laying the foundation for the defining proclamation of Emperor Yuan’s reign: “Those who dare offend the might of Han shall be executed, no matter how far away they are.”

Under such a proud dynasty, the Han’s martial world should be one of free-spirited vengeance and unrestrained adventure; its wandering knights should embody the ideal that “the greatest heroes fight for their country and their people”; its court should be loyal to the core, serving the nation and its people; and its territory should remain whole and its capital secure forever.
