Liu Shen Leilei Reads Tang Poetry: 2022 Edition

This book collects more than thirty of Lei Lei Liushen’s essays on Tang poetry, spanning four hundred years of history from the late Northern and Southern Dynasties to the Tang dynasty. It follows the course of the Early, High, Middle, and Late Tang, but is not confined to that framework. Rooted in the history of the Great Tang and enriched with vivid details, the author portrays the poets as living, breathing people. With a fresh approach that transcends the boundaries of time and space, the essays make even weighty subjects feel light and every page a delight, bringing to life the twists and turns, clashing swords, and love and hatred woven through each poem. Come wander through the dazzling world of Tang poetry, and revisit its graceful spirit while laughing out loud.
