Peaceful Branch

[Youthful Campus Romance × Somewhat Grounded in Reality × Unrequited Love Turned Mutual]

The cicadas’ midsummer chorus, the songs of June, and the impulsive feelings of youth: none of them could hold Kong Zhi’s gaze.

Looking at the boy before her, his face flushed all the way to his ears, Kong Zhi seemed to see herself on that day.

She heard him say, “I’m sorry, ”

She didn’t have the courage to hear any more. There were things that needed no explanation. From the moment he opened his mouth, she had already lost.

So she heard herself say to him, “I’m sorry. I don’t like you, ”

“May you meet the right person at the right time.”

The trees may wish for stillness, but the wind will not cease.

“I can’t hide my secrets, or my sadness, just as I can’t hide the joy of loving you or the bewilderment I feel when we part.”

Thankfully, the story between us isn’t only about youth.
