Shen Zhiyao's mother died young, and her father was a terrible excuse for a dad. In her previous life, she was forced into a political marriage and wed Xie Ke, who had been on the throne for barely a month. She was empress for only three days before accidentally eating his soup and becoming his scapegoat. When she woke again, she found herself back a year earlier, still the carefree, notorious young lady of Youjing. Reborn, she tried to avoid being forced into the palace again by toning down her unruly ways and arranging dates for herself!
Unfortunately, she still couldn't escape an imperial marriage decree. So Xie Ke proposed a one-year agreement: if Shen Zhiyao still didn't want him after a year, he would set her free.
Marriage first, love later.
Obsessive Big Bad Wolf x Affection-Starved Little Fox. 1v1, both pure, happy ending, no changing the male lead. The male lead isn't a jerk, but he has a very stubborn mouth, so there will be a little groveling-to-win-her-back angst, but not much. The overall tone is silly and funny, with both leads healing each other. Romance is the focus, palace intrigue and power struggles are secondary. The author is terrible at political scheming.
