After the Global Lovecraftian Horror, I Became the Only Nonhuman

The world has been transformed. Evil cults worship new gods, and malevolent spirits slaughter humanity. Nan Que transmigrates from ancient times to the present day, becoming the only nonhuman being in the entire world and shattering everyone’s understanding of reality at every turn.

At Ten Thousand Gu Village, Cloudtop City, and Seven Star Island, strange divine statues and stone tablets appear, all bearing her likeness. By a twist of fate, Nan Que becomes the head of the Z Country Investigation Bureau: a public servant on the surface and the boss of the Dragon Group behind the scenes (not really).

As her investigations dig deeper, Nan Que discovers that the masterminds behind the turmoil all seem to have some tangled connection to her.

The embodiment of desire, a charmer adored by all, says she is his ultimate target.

A black-robed Taoist says she is the reincarnation of a bringer of slaughter, burdened by terrible sins.

A foreign youth who commands poisonous insects claims to be her younger brother.

A man with white hair and red demonic markings says they are cultivation partners.

A gentle-smiling envoy of the Divine Kingdom, who has slipped in from abroad, says she is the saint who stole his divine nature.

A brooding man who emerged from the sea holds a long blade and says they were comrades who survived a deadly game together.

A world-hopper, covered in blood, says they share a deep feud involving skinning and bone carving.

An intelligent life-form says she betrayed it. The last human survivor of the apocalypse silently stays by her side, while reclusive outsiders wait in a hidden realm for her return.

Watching their cool and aloof, utterly dispassionate captain, Nan Que, the Investigation Bureau members offer a heartfelt suggestion: “How about recruiting them?”

P.S. The heroine is the only nonhuman being in the human faction. She isn't a fanatical patriot; the relationship is one of mutual cooperation and benefit.
