Detective Conan: Peace and Prosperity, Year After Year

Sui means peace, and sui means year after year. May the seas be calm, the rivers clear, and every year bring peace.

If a person's fate is set from birth, then I refuse to believe it. I have to fight it. It seems Heaven is always trying to take my insignificant life. I've teetered on the edge of death time and again. At first, I wasn't afraid of dying. More than death, I feared the coming darkness. Though I was already surrounded by darkness, it seemed not a glimmer of light could reach me...

They all seem to pray for eternal life, or perhaps resurrection. At first, I couldn't understand what in this world was worth going to such lengths for. Then I met them, and I began to realize that I was no longer afraid of the pain and death that had once meant so little to me. They frightened me even more than the darkness. They say hearing is the last sense to fade when a person dies. I'm afraid the last thing I'll hear is them crying, while I can no longer lift a hand to wipe their tears or smile and tell them, “It's okay.”

Elena Miyano/Atsushi Miyano: We only hope you'll be safe year after year, and that one day you'll make it out of this hellish laboratory whole and intact.

Shinichi Kudo/Conan: It's hard to believe you can remain so upright and righteous while surrounded by darkness.

Kaito Kuroba: It's hard to believe such a frail body can endure so much.

Ran: There will always be someone who calls me “angel,” but I don't think angels are wholly good in the eyes of demons. They have flaws too. But you're different. You're an angel lost in darkness, a fallen angel whose light is no dimmer than a true angel's.
